Sometimes you call it a “bulletproof vest” or a “shell”, but the body protectors has quite a lot great assets ! 😁
According to ergonomic criteria, we can distinguish 3 levels of protection to categorise the body protectors :
1️⃣ Level 1 :
The level 1 body protectors provide the lowest level of protection. This level has been designed to comply with weight limits that apply to jockeys during horse races. It is not adaptable with equestrian clothes.
2️⃣ Level 2 :
The level 2 body are suitable protectors to use in low risk situations. As a result, they are not advised for riding on roads or hard surfaces, for jumping, or to ride young horses. In other words, these body protectors are suitable protectors for use in low risk situations.
3️⃣ Level 3 :
The level 3 body protectors are suitable for leisure riding, jumping, and competition.
TIPS : All body protector must be delivered with an instruction leaflet to ensure its validity and conformity to the security regulations.
To conclude, if you are a dressage or jumper rider, it is best to use a level 3 body protector !
