With its unique temporal protection, Freejump’s Voronoi helmet is certainly the most advanced helmet on the market. Its atypical design and unique shape are sure to attract the riders’ attention on the cutting edge of technology. Zoom in on this latest-generation helmet, which ensures maximum safety while combining style and comfort.
The temporal zone: vital but neglected
The brain is a very fragile organ. Even if the skull protects from minor blows, this protection is minimal and ineffective in the vast majority of accidents. The thinness of the skull does not prevent even the strongest impacts from hitting the brain directly, sometimes causing serious lesions.
With the meningeal artery located just behind the temporal bone, the temporal area is the most fragile part of the skull. The slightest trauma can damage the artery, forming a hematoma that compresses brain cells. This can lead to serious, sometimes fatal, brain damage.
Every year in France, more than 150,000 head injuries are reported to emergency departments. Around a quarter of these are due to sports or leisure accidents – including horse riding.
Despite this, today’s helmets generally cover the entire brain area, except the temples. Yet temporal protection could significantly reduce the risk of concussion.
That’s why Freejump developed the first helmet with temporal protection: the Voronoi helmet.
The Voronoi helmet, the only ont to protect the temporal zone
Today, the Voronoi helmet is the only protection available for riders’ temporal area.
Its rigid shell is not limited to the skull, but extends down to cover the temples and ears. In the event of a fall, it absorbs and distributes the shockwave over a larger surface area, while reducing the risk of temporal damage and brain injury.
Technology and lightness
The helmet’s outer shell is made of intertwined carbon fiber. This high-tech material offers exceptional impact resistance. It also has the advantage of being incredibly light: the Voronoi helmet with temporal protection weighs just 650 grams!
The inner shell is made from one of the most absorbent EPS materials on the market. A rib reinforces the structure and ensures high resistance well above the norm. Freejump has added a sheet of polycarbonate directly on top of the EPS to further solidify its impact resistance.
The combination of these 3 protective layers gives the Voronoï exceptional impact resistance for enhanced protection of the skull and temple.
Design and ventilation
The Voronoi aerator have been designed to optimize airflow and provide outstanding thermal regulation.
The cells of the Voronoi pattern are carefully positioned to maximize airflow through the helmet. These irregular, geometric cells are reminiscent of the fascinating aesthetics of dragonfly wings, the brand’s emblem.
Customize your Voronoï for a unique look
The Voronoï helmet can be customized to meet the needs and desires of every rider.
On the Vestride website, you can choose between :
