The outer shell, made of injected polymer, protects against blunt elements (which could perforate the shell) and absorbs a first part of the shock waves by deforming or breaking.
The 2nd layer, made of high density EVA foam, will absorb part of the shock waves, reducing the energy that will be transmitted to layers 3 and 4.
The 3rd layer is a fiberglass-reinforced injected polymer cap. It reinforces the helmet by absorbing part of the energy in case of impact and offers a second protection against blunt elements.
The 4th layer is the expanded polystyrene (EPS) pad. It finishes absorbing the shock waves. It protects the cranium from cephalic injuries.
