I would like to try my stirrups

How does the stirrup trial work?

Our trial service is straightforward: choose the pair of stirrups you want to try, pay a deposit equal to their price, and enjoy 15 days of testing during your usual riding sessions.

After 15 days, return the trial pair by post or bring them back to our showroom. If you decide to keep them, we convert your deposit into a voucher toward a new pair. If you return them, we refund the deposit minus the rental fee (€15).

What are the benefits of trialling stirrups?

The trial service offers many advantages for every rider, amateur or professional:

• Try them in real conditions on your regular horse
• Assess comfort, stability and performance for your riding discipline
• Confirm the feel before investing in a technical or safety stirrup
• Avoid buying a pair that doesn’t suit your position or leg

The trial lets you check balance, sole adhesion, tread grip and shock absorption. It’s a practical way to see how a safety system reacts, or how specific tread designs influence foot position — whether you’re comparing safety stirrups or considering equipment to use alongside a horse riding airbag or body protector.

What does the stirrup trial cost?

The trial is secured by a deposit equal to the price of the model being tested. The deposit is held during the trial and then:

• Converted into a voucher if the trial is successful;
• Refunded if you return the pair (less the rental cost).

You can reserve your trial pair via our online shop or contact our team to check availability and current terms. The service is charged €15 – excluding return postage – if the product is returned within the agreed timeframe, clean and in good condition.

What materials are the trial stirrups made from?

The stirrups available to trial at Vestride are made from a range of materials to suit different riders:

• Stainless steel: extremely robust, corrosion-resistant and built to last
• Aluminium: lighter, combining sport-focused strength with a sleek design
• Composite: ideal for leisure riders — lightweight and economical
• Technical plastic: used for customisable or coloured models
• Elastomer: used in the footbeds to improve shock absorption and comfort

Each material brings distinct technical qualities — strength, flexibility, cushioning and lifespan. Trialling lets you judge how these features perform in regular equestrian use.

Who should trial stirrups?

The stirrup trial service is designed for any rider who wants to:

• Replace their current pair with a safer, more technical or ergonomic model
• Improve comfort in the saddle or refine leg position
• Test a safety system before adopting it

Each trial pair is supplied ready to ride, with all the necessary information: test conditions, return procedure, cleaning and usage recommendations.
