To improve the grip and fixity of your foot, and your leg as well, we advise you to choose a floor with grip or opt for magnetic stirrups. This gripping surface helps the rider keep his foot firmly in place, improving balance and comfort.

If your heels tend to raise, we advise you to choose an inclined floor. A sloping floor encourages the rider's heels to drop, which contributes to a better posture, improves stability and reduces leg fatigue by distributing the rider's weight more effectively over the stirrups.

The majority of safety stirrups have a removable or flexible side arm that allows the foot to leave the stirrup quickly in the event of a fall. There is also a patented system for detaching the stirrup from the stirrup leather in the event of a fall. This is particularly the case with the Rid'Up brand. Lastly, Ophena stirrups are open on the outside and operate by means of a sole plate magnetised to the floor.

To install the stirrups in the right direction, use the “L” for “Left” and the “R” for “Right” inscribed on most floors. If you've opted for sloping floors, the raised side should face forward. Finally, the foot ejection system is always located on the outside.

Safety stirrups prevent feet from getting stuck in the stirrups and being dragged along by the horse. They greatly reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of a fall.
